An induction programme is an important process for bringing new employees into an organisation. It provides an introduction to the working environment and the employee structure within the organisation.

An induction programme is part of an organisation's knowledge management process. It is intended to help the new employee to become a useful, integrated team member, rather than being 'thrown in at the deep end' without understanding how to do the job or how the role fits in with the rest of the company.
